TO STUDY THE GUIDANCE SERVICE THAT A TEACHER CAN PROVIDE IN SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN KARACHI
The overall objective of the study of guidance service that a teacher can provide in secondary schools. Guidance process can traced back when human being started existing. Kocchhar (2011). As an organized profession guidance was started between 1890 and 1905 by Frank parsons who was called the father of vocational guidance. In secondary schools guidance programs should be design to report the physical, emotional, social career and academic difficulties of students. On secondary level mostly the students have to face such problems so with the help of teacher’s guidance these problems can be resolved easily. The purpose of this research is to identify the main problem for guidance and counselling in secondary schools, examine the causes for teachers training need in Secondary schools and the role of administration in it. The study was limited due to limited time, skills, resources, and respondents. Guidance is for all in the classroom which is required to every pupil. Guidance is functional by nature. The guidance can be provided in group or to an individual it is totally depend on the situation or need of the student. This research is inspired with developmental theory and the design which I have used in my research is descriptive with qualitative paradigm. Many educational polices include guidance program but not even a single policy was implemented. Our education system required guidance service for improvement of education system. Due to the lacking of this service students as well as teachers face difficulties in teaching learning process.
