Abstract

Education is critical to the development of every nation. The same is true in education, where technology has been used to stab students with claws.  Likewise Web 1.0, Web 2.0 has provided a plethora of educational options and pathways, notably in tertiary education. Basically Web 2.0 is open in nature, prospective teachers can access, share, collaborate, and express knowledge with a single click from anywhere in the globe.  Web 2.0 tools can help prospective teachers to construct instructional plans and tactics for instructing school students. The goal of this research was to unravel prospective teachers’ Web 2.0 awareness and practices that influence prospective teachers’ decisions to adopt Web 2.0 technology. The research was fact-finding in nature, with a quantitative approach employed to carry it out. A framework of digital literacies/awareness was used for awareness/digital literacies. A survey method was used to collect data, which provided a clear picture of a prospective teacher’s present awareness and practices. The population of the study was comprised of prospective teachers of the teacher education departments from public and private sector universities of Sindh. The data were collected from the prospective teachers of public and private sector universities of Sindh province through random sampling. A descriptive analysis carried out. Based on findings, the results was drawn.
